Everything about it

On PEE.CHAT Battle Camera, winner takes all describes one thing: what happens to tips. While two battlers face off live in timed rounds, viewers can support a side with tips in PCASH, BTC or PCHAT. Those tips do not go straight to anyone. They are held in escrow until the battle is over. When the result is final, the winner takes the pot, minus a 2% fee. If the battle ends in a draw or is cancelled, every tip is refunded to the person who sent it. This page explains the rule step by step: what escrow means, what happens to your tip from the moment you send it, when it comes back and when it does not, and how to tip with a clear head. It describes how the money moves and nothing more: no result and no gain is promised.

The winner-takes-all rule in plain words

The rule has three parts.

Escrow. A tip sent to support a side is held in escrow while the battle runs. Escrow means set aside: until the result is known, the tip does not reach either battler.

Winner takes all. When the last round ends and the result is final, the winner takes the pot, which is the total of the tips sent during the battle, minus a 2% fee. Nothing is shared out with the other side.

Refund. If the battle ends in a draw or is cancelled, there is no winner. In that case every tip goes back to the person who sent it.

That is the whole rule, and it covers tips only.

What happens to your tip, step by step

Here is the path of one tip, from the audience's side.

First, create a free account. It comes with a wallet, and you need some PCASH, BTC or PCHAT in it to tip.

Next, open the Battle Camera page, choose a battle that is live and watch both cameras for a moment.

Then pick the side you want to support, choose a currency and send your tip. It goes into escrow, not to the battler.

While the rounds run, vote and chat. Voting is free, with or without a tip.

When the last round ends, the result is final. If one battler wins, the winner takes the pot minus the 2% fee. If it is a draw, your tip comes back to you.

Draw or cancelled: when every tip comes back

A battle has a winner only if one side finishes ahead. If both sides finish level after the last round, the battle is a draw. With no winner there is no pot to collect, so every tip is refunded to the person who sent it, whichever side it supported.

A cancelled battle follows the same rule. If a battle never reaches a result, the tips held in escrow are all refunded.

A refund is not a safety net for a lost battle, though. When one battler wins, the pot goes to that winner, so a tip for the side that lost is not returned. Keep that in mind before you send a tip, and send only what you are happy to give.

Tip and battle with a clear head

For viewers: a tip is an optional way to support a battler, separate from your vote. It comes with no promise of any kind. You never need to tip to have your say, because voting is free and the votes cast during the timed rounds help decide the result.

For battlers: the pot depends entirely on what the audience chooses to send. It can be large, small or empty, and PEE.CHAT promises no income and no value for any coin. A win still counts on the leaderboard, whatever the pot.

One more distinction: a battle can also be set as paid to watch. That revenue is separate from the tips, and the two battlers share it.

Frequently asked questions

What does winner takes all mean on Battle Camera?

It means that the tips sent during a battle are held in escrow and, once the result is final, go to the winner, minus a 2% fee. They are not shared out between the two sides. If there is no winner, because of a draw or a cancellation, every tip is refunded.

Do I get my tip back if my side loses?

No. A tip is refunded only when the battle ends in a draw or is cancelled. When one battler wins, the pot goes to the winner, minus the 2% fee. That is why you should send only an amount you are happy to give as support. Voting, in contrast, is always free.

What happens to the tips if a battle is cancelled?

Every tip is refunded to the person who sent it. Tips are held in escrow during the battle, so they have not reached either battler, and a cancellation simply sends them back. A battle that ends in a draw follows the same rule.

How big is the fee, and what does it apply to?

The fee is 2%. It comes off the pot when the winner takes it, as part of the battle rule. In a draw or a cancelled battle there is no winner, and every tip is refunded.

What do I need to tip in a battle?

A free PEE.CHAT account and some PCASH, BTC or PCHAT in the wallet that comes with it. Open a live battle on the Battle Camera page, pick a side and send your tip from the browser, on a computer, an iPhone or an Android phone. There is nothing to download.
