A plain emoji tells people how you feel. An animated one lets them see it. PEE.CHAT has its own animated emojis, the moving kind, made for the site and meant for the places where people talk: your chats with other members, the comments under posts and the chat of live rooms. They give a short message some life and let you react in a second, which matters when a room chat moves fast. There is a dedicated emoji gallery where you can watch them in motion before you use any. This page explains what animated emojis add to a conversation, where you can use them, how to browse the gallery and a few habits that keep your messages clear and friendly. Nothing to install: everything runs in your browser.

What animated emojis add to a message

Written words have no tone of voice. A moving emoji brings some of it back, because a feeling such as joy, surprise or encouragement arrives together with the movement that goes with it. That is why animated emojis suit reactions: you do not need to type a sentence to show that you enjoyed a video or a joke. One emoji is enough, and the other person sees it come alive.

They also travel well between languages. PEE.CHAT is available in 11 languages, and a short animated reaction is often easier to understand than a sentence in a language you do not share.

Where you can use them on PEE.CHAT

Animated emojis belong where people talk. In your chats with other members they add personality to the conversation. In comments they let you react to a photo or a video in a second. In live rooms they keep up with a busy room chat, where one moving emoji can say more than a line that scrolls away immediately.

To write in a room chat or to comment, you need a free account, because chatting and commenting are for members. Creating one costs nothing. Watching rooms and the feed does not require an account.

Browse the emoji gallery first

The emoji gallery is the page where PEE.CHAT shows its animated emojis. Open it on a computer, an iPhone or an Android phone, then look through the set and watch the emojis move. It is the quickest way to know what is available before you start typing.

Take a minute to find a few favourites. Having a handful of go-to reactions makes answering quicker, and it gives your messages a recognisable style. The gallery needs nothing installed: it is a page of the site, so it opens in the browser like any other.

Using animated emojis well

A few habits keep animated emojis fun for everyone. Match the mood: a cheerful emoji under a serious message sends the wrong signal. In a fast room chat, one emoji is plenty, because a stream of moving images makes the chat harder to read for everyone else.

Remember that people read emojis differently around the world, so when the meaning matters, add a few words. And keep the respect you would show without an emoji: PEE.CHAT has moderation, reporting and blocking, and an emoji does not change what is acceptable.
