Everything about it
Not everything belongs in a public feed or a crowded room. Sometimes you just want to talk to one person: a creator whose posts you like, someone you met in a live room, a stranger you swapped usernames with after a random chat. Private messages on PEE.CHAT are made for that. It is a one-to-one conversation between two members, where you can write, send photos and videos, record voice notes, start an audio or video call and send a tip. All you need is a free account, because everything runs in your browser on a computer, an iPhone or an Android phone, with nothing to download. This page explains how to start a conversation, what you can send, how tips work in a chat and which habits keep it comfortable.
How to start a private conversation
Private messages need a free account, so create one first. It costs nothing, and it comes with a free wallet too. Then open the private messages page, choose the member you want to write to and send your first message.
Met someone in a live room, on the feed or in Talk to Stranger? Swap usernames there, then carry on in private. Keep a first message short and friendly: say who you are and why you are writing, for example that you enjoyed their video or their room.
From then on the conversation stays between the two of you. It does not appear in a room or on the feed, and you can come back to it whenever you like.
Text, photos, videos and voice notes
Text is the base, and you add the rest when words are not enough. Photos and videos let you share what you are seeing: a view from your window, a short clip from your day, a piece of your own work.
Voice notes sit between typing and calling. Record one in your own voice and the other person listens when it suits them, which is handy across time zones or when your hands are busy.
And when you would rather talk live, start an audio or video call from the same conversation. All of it works in the browser, so there is nothing to install. Share only what you would be happy for the other person to keep.
Sending a tip inside a conversation
Every account comes with a free wallet. A Bitcoin address is created for you automatically, and the same wallet holds PCASH and PCHAT, PEE.CHAT's own coins.
From a private conversation you can send the other person a tip in BTC, PCASH or PCHAT in a few seconds, without leaving the browser, and they can send one to you. A tip is a thank-you: for advice, for a great video, for a chat that made your day. It is always optional and never a condition for talking.
PEE.CHAT promises nothing about income or about the value of any coin, so tip only what you are comfortable giving. If someone pushes you to send coins, stop replying, block them and report them.
Keeping your conversations comfortable
You decide who you talk to. If a message makes you uncomfortable, you do not have to answer: block the member, and report them if they broke the rules. PEE.CHAT has reporting, blocking and moderation for exactly this.
Treat private messages like any online chat. The person you write to can save or screenshot what you send, so share only what you would be happy for them to keep, and hold back personal details such as your address or phone number until you really trust someone.
Never send your password or a login code to anyone, whatever reason they give, and turn on two-factor authentication (2FA) for your account.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need an account to send private messages?
Yes. Private messages need a free PEE.CHAT account, and creating one costs nothing. You do not need an account for Talk to Stranger, for watching live rooms or for scrolling the feed, but writing to a member one-to-one is something only account holders can do.
What can I send in a private message?
You can write text, send photos and videos, and record voice notes. From the same conversation you can start an audio or video call, and you can send a tip in BTC, PCASH or PCHAT. Everything works in the browser, on a computer, an iPhone or an Android phone.
Can I send someone a tip in a private conversation?
Yes. Your free wallet lets you send BTC, PCASH or PCHAT to the person you are talking with in a few seconds, and they can send you one too. Tips are optional, nobody has to tip to keep chatting, and nothing is guaranteed in return.
Who can see my private messages?
A private message is a one-to-one conversation between you and another member, kept out of the feed and the live rooms. As with any online chat, the other person can save or screenshot what you send, so share only what you are comfortable with and never send passwords or login codes.
Can I use private messages on my phone?
Yes. PEE.CHAT runs in the browser of an iPhone or an Android phone as well as on a computer, so there is nothing to download from an app store. Add the site to your home screen if you want to open it like an app.
